Fitted Kitchens and Wardrobes in the Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross
We design, build and fit kitchens and wardrobes for homes in Chalfont St Giles, Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross, all made at our workshop in Chesham. The homes here range from village cottages to large detached family houses, and we work on both.
Homes we work on in the Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross
- Chalfont St Giles: a village centre of older cottages, many with low ceilings, exposed beams and walls that are far from straight.
- Chalfont St Peter: older village buildings alongside twentieth-century family homes.
- Gerrards Cross: many large detached houses built from the early 1900s onwards, after the railway opened, often with big kitchens and bedrooms that suit dressing rooms.
Two very different kinds of job
In a cottage the work is about fitting: scribing units to uneven walls, working under beams and finding storage in small rooms. In a larger house it is about planning: islands, larder units, utility rooms and wardrobes that work for a whole family.
- Bespoke kitchens, from a small cottage kitchen to a large open-plan room with an island.
- Walk-in wardrobes and dressing rooms for larger bedrooms.
- Fretwork wardrobes for a decorative finish in a period room.
A similar project: a period kitchen with an exposed beam
In this period home the client wanted to keep an exposed structural beam visible, which ruled out a very modern scheme. We fitted painted dove-grey Shaker cabinetry with a white marble-effect worktop around a large central island mixing closed cabinets and open display shelving, with a tall pantry-style unit hiding the fridge freezer. How it works from our Chesham workshop
Our team has over 15 years of experience designing and fitting bespoke furniture.
- Free design visit: a designer comes to your home in the Chalfonts or Gerrards Cross to measure up and talk through your brief, budget and style. The visit is free and comes with no obligation. It usually takes 60 to 90 minutes, and the designer brings material samples so you can see finishes in your own light.
- 3D design and quote: Within 5 working days you receive a 3D design and a written, itemised quote. Nothing moves to manufacture until you have approved it.
- Workshop build: your furniture is made to order at our workshop at 6 Cavendish Road, Chesham, not bought in as flat-pack.
- Fitting: Our own fitters install everything, scribing units to your walls and floor so there are no gaps, and tidy up afterwards. Nothing is subcontracted, and every project is backed by a 10-year guarantee.
Allow 8 to 12 weeks from design sign-off to a finished kitchen, with the installation itself usually 5 days on site. A fitted wardrobe usually takes 2 to 4 weeks from design visit to completion; most are fitted in a day, and a full walk-in takes 3 to 5 days on site.
Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross FAQs
Can you fit units in a cottage where no wall is straight?
Yes. We template every surface before manufacturing, then scribe units to the wall and pack out for an uneven floor instead of leaving a visible gap.
Do you work in conservation areas?
Fitted furniture inside a house does not usually need planning permission, but listed buildings are different. If your home is listed, check with Buckinghamshire Council before work starts.
How long does fitting take for a large kitchen?
Allow 8 to 12 weeks from design sign-off to a finished kitchen. The installation itself is usually 5 days on site, and we leave the site clean at the end of every working day.
Do you charge for the design visit or the 3D plans?
No. The home visit, the measurements, the 3D design and the written quote are all free, with no obligation to proceed.
