Fitted Kitchens and Wardrobes in Amersham
Amersham is the closest town to our workshop at 6 Cavendish Road in Chesham. We design, build and fit bespoke kitchens and wardrobes for homes in Amersham Old Town, Amersham-on-the-Hill and Little Chalfont. Being this close makes design visits, measuring and any aftercare quick to arrange.
Homes we work on in Amersham
Amersham has two very different kinds of housing, and each brings its own fitting problems.
- Amersham Old Town: Georgian and older timber-framed buildings along the High Street and the lanes off it. Walls are rarely straight and ceilings can be low, so every cabinet and wardrobe is made to the measured room, not to a standard size.
- Amersham-on-the-Hill and Little Chalfont: many homes date from the 1920s and 1930s, when the Metropolitan line brought new housing. Bay windows, chimney-breast alcoves and sloping bedroom ceilings are common, and all of them suit made-to-measure furniture.
What we make for Amersham homes
- Fitted kitchens planned around the room you have, from a compact cottage kitchen to an open-plan family space.
- Fitted bedroom wardrobes, including Shaker-style doors that sit well in both period and 1930s homes.
- Media walls for living rooms, snugs and hallways.
Recent work just up the road in Chesham
A client in Chesham wanted their entrance hall to feel like more than a corridor to the stairs. We built a symmetrical media wall around the front door, with black marble-effect panelling on both sides, a central walnut-effect panel backlit with warm LED strip lighting, and the TV set directly into the timber. See the Chesham media wall project, or browse all our projects.

How it works from our Chesham workshop
Our team has over 15 years of experience designing and fitting bespoke furniture.
- Free design visit: a designer comes to your home in Amersham to measure up and talk through your brief, budget and style. The visit is free and comes with no obligation. It usually takes 60 to 90 minutes, and the designer brings material samples so you can see finishes in your own light.
- 3D design and quote: Within 5 working days you receive a 3D design and a written, itemised quote. Nothing moves to manufacture until you have approved it.
- Workshop build: your furniture is made to order at our workshop at 6 Cavendish Road, Chesham, not bought in as flat-pack.
- Fitting: Our own fitters install everything, scribing units to your walls and floor so there are no gaps, and tidy up afterwards. Nothing is subcontracted, and every project is backed by a 10-year guarantee.
Allow 8 to 12 weeks from design sign-off to a finished kitchen, with the installation itself usually 5 days on site. A fitted wardrobe usually takes 2 to 4 weeks from design visit to completion; most are fitted in a day, and a full walk-in takes 3 to 5 days on site.
What does it cost?
Everything is made to measure, so the price depends on size, materials and finishes. Our luxury kitchens page sets out typical ranges for small, medium and large kitchens, and our guide to what fitted wardrobes cost does the same for wardrobes.
Amersham FAQs
Do you have a showroom in Amersham?
No. We are based in Chesham and do not run a showroom. Instead a designer comes to your home and brings samples, finishes and the design with them, so you choose materials in the light of the actual room, and there is no showroom overhead built into the price.
Do you work on period homes in Amersham Old Town?
Yes. Low ceilings, exposed beams and uneven walls are exactly what made-to-measure furniture is for. We template every surface before manufacturing, scribe units to the wall rather than filling the gap, and design around original features instead of boxing them in. If your home is listed, check with Buckinghamshire Council’s conservation team whether consent is needed before fixed joinery goes in.
Do you charge for the design visit or the 3D plans?
No. The home visit, the measurements, the 3D design and the written quote are all free, with no obligation to proceed.
Can you build wardrobes around bay windows and sloping ceilings?
Yes. Every wardrobe is measured on site and made to order, so it can follow a sloping ceiling, fill an alcove or work around a window. See our loft wardrobes for examples.
