Fitted wardrobes are made to measure, so there is no single price. This guide sets out typical ranges for the wardrobes we design, build in our Chesham workshop and fit, and explains what moves the price up or down.
The short answer
Our minimum project value is £1,500 including VAT. A single wall of fitted wardrobes typically costs £1,500 to £3,500, and a full island dressing room £3,000 to £7,000, depending on room size, layout and level of finish.
Fitted wardrobe prices by layout
| Layout | Typical room footprint | Indicative range |
|---|---|---|
| Single wall (reach-in) | From 1.5m × 2m | £1,500 to £3,500 |
| L-shaped | From 2m × 2.5m | £1,500 to £4,500 |
| U-shaped or parallel runs | From 2.5m × 3m | £2,000 to £4,500 |
| Island dressing room | From 3.5m × 4m | £3,000 to £7,000 |
A single-wall layout in a box room sits at the lower end. A full dressing room with an island, spray-painted fronts and premium hardware sits at the upper end. For more on layouts and the space each needs, see our walk-in wardrobes page.
Door styles
| Door style | What it suits | Price guide |

| Sliding | Smaller rooms where a hinged door would hit the bed | Priced on your design, from our £1,500 minimum |

What changes the price
- Size and layout: a single wall costs less than an L-shaped, U-shaped or island dressing room.
- Door style and finish: painted, veneer, glass and mirror doors all cost different amounts, and spray-painted fronts sit at the upper end.
- Internal fittings: full-extension drawer boxes, soft-close runners and pull-down rails add meaningfully to the cost, but they are the parts you touch every day and the first to fail if specified cheaply.
- Lighting inside the wardrobe or around it.
- Awkward spaces such as eaves, sloping ceilings and chimney breasts, which take more workshop time.
What our price includes
- A free home design visit, a 3D design and an itemised, fixed quote within 5 working days. The price on your drawings is the price you pay.
- Manufacture in our own Chesham workshop.
- Fitting by our own installers, who scribe the units to your walls and floor and tidy up afterwards.
- A 10-year guarantee.
Fitted, freestanding or flat-pack?
Freestanding and flat-pack wardrobes cost less up front, but they come in fixed sizes, so they leave gaps above and beside them and rarely suit alcoves or sloping ceilings. Fitted wardrobes use the full height and width of the wall. For more on the trade-offs, read 7 dangers of buying cheap fitted wardrobes and walk-in or built-in?.
