Fitted Kitchens and Wardrobes in Watford
We design, build and fit kitchens and wardrobes for Watford homes, all made at our workshop in Chesham. Many Watford homes, from Victorian terraces to 1930s semis, are being extended at the back or side, and the kitchen is usually the reason. We design and make kitchens for the new space, and fitted wardrobes for the bedrooms upstairs.
Homes we work on in Watford
- Victorian and Edwardian terraces, often with a side return that can be filled in to widen the kitchen.
- 1930s semis around Cassiobury and the west of the town, with bay windows and chimney-breast alcoves.
Planning a kitchen around an extension
Bring a kitchen designer in while the extension is still being drawn, not after the walls are up. Window positions, radiators, sockets and where the plumbing comes in all affect what the kitchen can be. We coordinate our measuring and delivery dates around your builder’s programme. We do not carry out structural work ourselves, so you will need a separate contractor for that.
For layout ideas, read about open-plan kitchens and kitchen layouts. Our Harrow kitchens page covers similar 1930s homes.
Wardrobes for Watford bedrooms
Sliding door wardrobes suit bedrooms where a hinged door would hit the bed, and fitted bedroom wardrobes can fill the alcoves in a 1930s room.
A similar project: sliding doors for a smaller bedroom
A hinged wardrobe would have swung into most of this bedroom’s floor space, so the client asked for sliding doors. We built a three-panel system with matt black outer panels and a full-height mirrored centre door that doubles as a dressing mirror, fitted inside with a hanging rail, a glass shelf, soft-close drawers and LED lighting. How it works from our Chesham workshop
Our team has over 15 years of experience designing and fitting bespoke furniture.
- Free design visit: a designer comes to your home in Watford to measure up and talk through your brief, budget and style. The visit is free and comes with no obligation. It usually takes 60 to 90 minutes, and the designer brings material samples so you can see finishes in your own light.
- 3D design and quote: Within 5 working days you receive a 3D design and a written, itemised quote. Nothing moves to manufacture until you have approved it.
- Workshop build: your furniture is made to order at our workshop at 6 Cavendish Road, Chesham, not bought in as flat-pack.
- Fitting: Our own fitters install everything, scribing units to your walls and floor so there are no gaps, and tidy up afterwards. Nothing is subcontracted, and every project is backed by a 10-year guarantee.
Allow 8 to 12 weeks from design sign-off to a finished kitchen, with the installation itself usually 5 days on site. A fitted wardrobe usually takes 2 to 4 weeks from design visit to completion; most are fitted in a day, and a full walk-in takes 3 to 5 days on site.
Watford FAQs
When should we involve you in an extension project?
As early as possible, ideally while the plans are being drawn. We coordinate our measuring and delivery dates around your builder’s programme.
Do you supply worktops and appliances too?
Yes. We supply worktops from laminate to quartz and granite, and integrated appliances fitted as part of the project.
Can sliding wardrobes work in a 1930s semi bedroom?
Yes, where there is a straight wall to run them along. Because the doors run parallel to the wall rather than swinging out, they need no clearance in front.
Do you fit kitchens in flats?
Yes. In flats and conversions we use compact runs, full-height storage to the ceiling, and integrated appliances that keep the sightline unbroken.
