Luxury Media Walls

Bespoke Media Walls in London, Buckinghamshire & Reading

The living room has moved on from the bulky TV stand and the tangle of cables behind it. In its place is a single, architectural feature that frames the screen, hides the technology and anchors the whole room: the media wall.
At Stunning Kitchen & Wardrobes, we design, build and install bespoke luxury media walls across London, Chesham and the wider Home Counties. Every wall is made to measure — an inset electric fireplace here, concealed storage there, ambient lighting throughout — so the finished room feels considered rather than decorated. From the first sketch to the final coat of paint, our in-house team handles the joinery, the electrics and the finish.

What is a Luxury Media Wall?

A luxury media wall is a custom-built structural feature that houses your television and home entertainment system in one seamless unit. Rather than hanging a screen on a bare wall or standing it on a cabinet, the wall is constructed to frame the television flawlessly and integrate it into the architecture of the room.
A true bespoke media wall goes well beyond holding a TV. It can incorporate an ultra-realistic inset fireplace, immersive sound, concealed cabling, hidden storage and premium material finishes — all planned around how you actually use the space. The result is clean, contemporary and highly organised.

The Hallmarks of a Bespoke Media Wall

Here is what separates a genuine bespoke installation from a standard entertainment unit.

Seamless Technology & Cable Management

Nothing spoils a room faster than black cables dangling from a screen. Our media walls are built with concealed cable routes designed in at the frame stage, so your television, consoles, streaming boxes and sound system are wired invisibly behind the wall. The finish is flawless and completely minimalist.

Integrated Electric Fireplaces

We fit industry-leading LED electric fires with realistic, multi-sided flame effects. Because they need no chimney or flue, they can go almost anywhere, and the flames can be enjoyed with or without heat — so you get year-round ambience, not just a winter feature.

Custom Storage & Shelving

A media wall should earn its space. We design bespoke alcoves, floating shelves and soft-close cabinetry around your life — deep drawers for children’s toys and controllers, or illuminated glass shelving for art and photographs.

Atmospheric LED Lighting

Lighting is what makes an interior feel expensive. We integrate warm-white LED strips into recesses, shelving and behind the television to create a cinematic glow that reduces eye strain and highlights the texture of the materials. A warmer 2700K tone reads far softer in an evening living room than the cooler light that looks clean in a showroom.

Media Wall Fireplaces: Your Options

An integrated fireplace is one of the most impactful features you can add. We work with three types:

  • Electric — the most flexible option, with no flue required, realistic flame effects and heat you can switch on or off.
  • Gas — a real flame where a suitable flue and gas supply exist, fitted by a registered engineer.
  • Bio-ethanol — a genuine flame with no flue and no mains connection, for a clean, contemporary look.

As a rule of thumb, the fire should be sized to your screen rather than the cabinet — roughly 90–115% of the television’s width — so the two elements balance visually. We frame and line every fireplace recess during the build and manage all connections in-house, then advise on the right unit for your room, heat needs and finish.

How Much Does a Luxury Media Wall Cost?

Every luxury media wall we build is bespoke, so the price reflects your room, your chosen materials and your AV setup. As a guide, most professionally built media walls in the UK cost between £2,000 and £4,500, while fully bespoke luxury installations — premium finishes, integrated fireplace, floor-to-ceiling joinery — start higher. Below are our guide prices to help you plan. Every project is quoted in full, with no hidden costs, before any work begins.

PackageFromWhat’s included
EssentialFrom £[e.g. 3,500 — insert your price]Central TV recess, fully concealed cable management, soundbar shelf, LED ambient lighting, and a choice of painted or timber finishes.
SignatureFrom £[e.g. 6,500 — insert your price]Everything in Essential, plus an integrated electric fireplace, bespoke cabinetry and storage to either side, and upgraded finishes such as acoustic wood slats or fluted panelling.
Bespoke LuxuryFrom £[e.g. 10,000 — insert your price]Everything in Signature, plus premium materials — marble, quartz or porcelain cladding, Venetian plaster or high-gloss lacquer — with smart lighting and full AV integration, delivered as one seamless design from floor to ceiling.

Guide prices assume a standard ceiling height of 2.4–2.5m and a wall width of 3–4m. Your final figure depends on your exact dimensions, materials, AV complexity and site conditions. Every quote is itemised and fixed before work starts.

What affects the cost of a media wall?

The cost of a bespoke media wall comes down to three things: the size of the wall, the materials you choose, and the complexity of the electrics and AV. Natural stone, marble and book-matched panels sit at the top of the range, while painted MDF and timber finishes are more economical. An integrated fireplace adds to the total — media-wall electric fires themselves range from around £300 for an entry-level unit to £2,500 or more for the most realistic panoramic models. As a Buckinghamshire-based studio serving London and the Home Counties, we deliver the same craftsmanship as central-London joiners without the central-London premium — worth knowing, as prices in London and the South East typically run 20–40% higher than the rest of the UK.

Premium Materials & Finishes

The material does most of the work on a luxury media wall. We offer a wide portfolio of finishes and bring samples to your home before you decide:

  • Acoustic wood slats — natural oak or walnut panelling for warmth and texture.
  • Marble, quartz & porcelain cladding — large-format stone panels for an opulent, architectural backdrop, including book-matched and honed finishes.
  • Venetian plaster & microcement — seamless artisan surfaces for ultra-modern or industrial-chic interiors, hard-wearing and beautifully tactile.
  • High-gloss & matte lacquers — custom-painted finishes colour-matched precisely to your existing palette.

Why Invest in a Custom Media Wall?

Maximise your space. Floor-standing cabinets eat square footage and clutter a room. Building upwards and integrating the television and storage into the wall frees the floor, making the space feel larger, airier and more open.

Create a natural focal point. Open-plan rooms can feel disjointed. A media wall gives the space a clear centrepiece and directs the flow of the furniture around it.

Add value to your home. A professionally installed, permanent architectural feature signals a home maintained to a high standard, and is highly attractive to buyers.

luxury media walls
  1. How much does a luxury media wall cost?

Every media wall is bespoke, so the price depends on the size of the wall, the materials and the AV setup. Most professionally built media walls in the UK fall between £2,000 and £4,500, with premium bespoke builds starting higher. See our guide prices above, and book a free design visit for an itemised, fixed quote.

  2. How long does a media wall installation take?

Many of our media walls are fitted in a single day. Larger, full-height or stone-clad builds typically take two to four days. We give you a clear timeline as part of your quote and we keep to it.

  3. Do you handle the electrics, and are they certified?

Yes — our in-house electricians manage the full electrical and AV element, with all cabling concealed within the wall and sockets positioned exactly where your equipment needs them.

  4. Do I need planning permission or building regulations approval?

For a standard media wall built as a non-structural stud feature, planning permission is not normally required. Building regulations mainly apply to the electrical work, which we handle. We’ll flag anything specific to your property at the survey stage.

  5. Can I add a fireplace later?

Yes, provided the wall is designed with the right recess and electrics from the start. It’s a sensible way to spread the cost, and we plan for it during the design stage.

  6. What’s the largest television you can support?

Our reinforced timber frameworks comfortably hold anything from a 50″ screen to an 85″ display or larger. We build around your exact television and mount it securely at the ideal viewing height.

  7. Can a media wall be removed later?

Yes. A media wall is a fitted stud structure, so it can be altered or removed by a competent joiner if your needs change, with the wall made good afterwards.
